On 10 December 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations approved and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the complete text of which is printed on the following pages.
Following this important resolution, the United Nations Assembly instructed the General Secretary to provide for the widespread awareness of this Declaration and, to this end, for the publication and distribution of the text in as many languages as possible, using every available means.
The Declaration, a Magna Charta for all humanity, is the most translated text in the world (in 1998, in occasion of the 50th UDHR anniversary, it even entered into Guinness World Records) and is available in 360 languages.
